"When we established Anak Bangsa, there was nothing: no identity, no marketing and no communication. CommunicAid has given us all this, and thanks to their professional help we can reach out to a broader audience. We are very grateful for their support. "(Founder/ Project Coordinator Anak Bangsa)
Anak Bangsa is a brand-new organisation. It was set up to provide underprivileged children in Central Lombok with the opportunity for a better future. Originally, it is partnership of a Dutch and Indonesian non-governmental aid organisations. Together they have one goal: to be a trusted, safe and instructive organisation for deprived children, where they will be able to learn, play and develop themselves.
For every new organisation there is a great need for raising awareness and funding to get started. To do so professional and effective marketing/ communication are essential, and this costs money, which is not there. In order to enable Anak Bangsa to evolve successfully, CommunicAid helped them. In close partnership a professional communication strategy using a tailored concept, branding and design was developed.
Branding- developing the (visual) identity- is the starting point of this project. Who is Anak Bangsa, what do they do and whom are they helping? The style of communication consists of a logo, intense imagery and tagline. Basically, it reflects a three- points relation between the deprived child (in his/her environment), his/her wish or ambition (‘blob’) and the help of Anak Bangsa (what they do: encouraging to fulfil the children’s dreams). The total style is carried by a distinct design creating a balance between all elements and emphasising the caring role of Anak Bangsa in the children’s lives.
Imagery plays an important role to visualize the story of Anak Bangsa and their children. Therefore besides a special series for the general communication, several photo documentaries were created.
CommunicAid designed and developed a range of different means of communication as business cards, letterheads, website www.anakbangsafoundation.org, brochures, posters, e-newsletters, T-shirts, signboard etc.
Through the whole process CommunicAid assisted Anak Bangsa to implement all these tools through tutorials and instruction manuals. And for the following two years CommunicAid will continue its support to the aid organisation regarding the provided means of communication.
For this project CommunicAid seeked funding in The Netherlands to finance the costs of the Project Activities, while Anak Bangsa supported the Team Worldwide of CommunicAid with the cost of living (Project Support).
